Race for the Cure 2015

Hi everyone!  How was your weekend?  We had a WONDERFUL time at Race for the Cure with family and friends.  The outpouring of support was overwhelming.  Gabe and I feel so humbled on a daily basis.  Y'all are amazing!!!!

Here are a few pictures from the event:

This is Team Robin.  My Brother's Salsa/Team Robin was in the top 10 fundraisers of this year's NWA event.  How awesome is that?  Most of that was because Bree Spargur raised a lot, but a lot of you donated even if you couldn't be there.  It makes my heart so happy.

Emme and Caroline Pointer.  Aren't they cute???

Gabe and I with our great friends, Blake and Ashley Pointer.  They are so good to us.

Eli with Noah Pointer.  I'm sure they were thinking very deep thoughts.

Emme and Caroline sporting the Team Robin JUNK Bandz.  I hope I spelled that correctly.  They are a local company out of Bentonville.  You should check them out.  They have different styles and patterns.

I do want to give a shout out to My Brother's Salsa.  If you have never tried their salsa, you are missing out on major deliciousness (did you like that word?).  Their website is www.mybrotherssalsa.com. You can purchase their products off their website, or in local stores like Harps, Neighborhood Market, Richard's Meat Market, Fresh Market, etc.  They also have recipes on their website.  AH-mazing!

I hope y'all are having a great week.  I was fortunate to attend a fundraising dinner for LifeSource last night, thanks to our good friends David and Ana Echegoyen.  LifeSource is a local organization that helps provide food and other necessities for those less fortunate in our area.  They also provide after school and summer programs.  They are the real deal, y'all.  Check them out!  Here is a picture of Ana, Ashley, and myself from last night.

One more thing....I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and received good news.  My tumor markers are about the same, but Dr. Beck is happy with them.  The great news is that my tumor levels/function keep getting better!  He said that is more important right now than my marker numbers.  Woo hoo!!!  Please, please keep praying that the cancer goes completely away. I am so ready to be off most of my chemo pills.  Also, please pray that my lymphedema goes away.  My arm is swollen again so I'm going back to physical therapy.  Not a big deal.  I'm just ready to have a normal arm!

Have a great Wednesday, and I'll be back in a few days with Friday Favorites.
XO,
Robin

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, y'all!  Hope you've had a great week.  We had ball games, friends over for dinner, gymnastics, church, homework, and little sleep.  I'm sure you can relate!

The first thing I want to share this week is (drum roll, please.....) all the Lilly Pulitzer stuff I received from Target yesterday.  I've been counting down the day to purchase her collection, and I even stayed up last Saturday night/Sunday morning to buy it online.  As soon as the website went live, I feverishly set out to purchase everything I could.  The problem was that the website kept crashing, plus as soon as I'd get some things in my cart they would be removed because they were sold out.  So, I ended up getting a few things for Emme and myself, but they are well worth it!!!

Here is Emme's loot.  Can you even believe the cuteness?  In case you can't tell, she ended up with a maxi dress, shorts, and shirt.

I scored espadrilles, pants, shorts, tunic, and a romper which I haven't received yet.  Aren't they so happy?  You would have thought it was Christmas around the house when Emme and I opened the box.  Gabe thinks we're crazy, but that's okay.  He was just as excited over his new baseball glove, but don't tell him I told you. :-)

My next favorite thing is this adorable store I found on Etsy.  It is called Littlelow.  They make cards, banners, and prints.  The store owner is from Austin, and I've decided everything that comes out of Austin is cool.  Especially the HGTV Dream Home.  Have you seen that thing?  Amazing!  But I digress.  Here is a screen shot of the store.  Check her out!

When I save up some money, I'm going to redecorate my master bedroom.  I am trying to figure out the colors I want to use.  I'm really in love with navy/royal blue right now.  Here are a few options I found on another blog (I can't remember the blog's name or I'd give her credit).  Which one do you like best?  These definitely aren't the final 2, but they are contenders.  I'm loving the toile prints.

The next room I'm going to update is our entry.  I'll keep you posted on that.

My last favorite thing for today is something very close to my heart: Race For The Cure.  Our dear, amazing friends from My Brother's Salsa are sponsoring Team Robin again this year.  There are no words to describe how much this means to me.  You all are part of my team, whether you are able to actually walk with us, or are donating money.  I pray we find a cure soon.  Too many people are dying from this ridiculous disease, and it's time we stop it in its' tracks.  On a fashion note, My Brother's Salsa (Blake and Ashley Pointer, and the amazing Ms. Helen Lampkin) created Team Robin JUNK headbands this year.  They are SO cute!!!!  I can't wait to sport mine tomorrow morning.  If you want one, let me know.  They might have a few left.  They are $10.

Here are my adopted nieces, Hannah and Emily Schmidt, sporting theirs.  I can't wait to see those precious girls tomorrow!!!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather.  Just remember: You is Kind, You is Smart, You is Important.

XO,
Robin

Easter Fun

I know.  I know.  I'm a little behind in posting about our Easter, but that's how I roll these days.  Ugh. Chemo brain, mommy brain, and just being scatterbrained anyway does not help my case.  Maybe I'll get it all together when I grow up someday.

The night before Easter, my littles dyed Easter eggs.  I am going to let them as long as they want, because I know the time is coming soon when they will think they're too old.  Sigh.  They really did have fun, though.  Here are a few pictures.  Emme didn't want her picture taken so I managed sneaking a picture of her hand.  I know.  I'm a weirdo.

We had such a wonderful Easter.  I don't have pictures, but that morning we had 500 people in our little church.  They had to bring in folding chairs.  God was there, and it was great.  Our pastor, Alex  Foster, asked if my friend and I could be angels and we said yes.  To the wings.  We just had to stand there, but it was a little unnerving because we had to walk up stairs to stand on a small platform.  We made it, though.  Whew!  A few of the guys almost started a fire backstage, but that's a different story.  It was almost The Best Easter Pageant Ever (instead of Christmas...get it?).

After church, we had family over for lunch.  It was a casual affair, but I always want to sit around the dining room table when we can.  It's nice to be together and catch up on the happenings in everyone's lives.  It's good for the soul, ya know?

Here are a few pictures of the table setting.

Very simple but festive.  I had the placemats (pink and green ones are Kate Spade that I picked up from TJ Maxx..swoon!).  The egg placemats I picked up from Target last year.  I already had the chargers and plates.  The pink/burlap and gold/white table runners are from Hobby Lobby.  The gold/white was 30% off, and I used my 40% coupon for the burlap so they were so inexpensive.  I love the bright pink and have decided to add a little in my dining room and entry.  I'll keep you posted.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and remembered the true meaning of it.  We love to have fun with Easter baskets and bunnies, but we always remember and discuss the purpose of the celebration with our kids.  Christ has risen!!!! He is alive!!!! "He is not here for He has risen, just as He said."  Matthew 28:6.

Robin
